When we popped backstage post-show to meet Hannah Marshall yesterday we had to wait patiently while an endless stem of friends congratulated her. Erin O'Connor, Amber Rose (Kanye West's former girlfriend) and Jimmy Choo were all there singing her praises and no wonder - the collection was her best yet.
'Well it was Hannah Marshall at her best,' Erin, who's arguably Hannah's biggest fan, told me. 'And do you know what was a real pleasure about watching the show this time? It was comfortable and it was refined, you know I really believed in everything I saw and you get the sense that you watched something very unapologetic and unique but could also go into a shop, pick it off the rack and not be self conscious in it.'
We couldn't agree more. The collection was strong, powerful and edgy - Hannahs signature style - but with a more refined and polished feel than weve seen from her before. And, stop the press, there was an addition of colour.
'Yes, I was branching out for spring summer, you know,' Hannah told us. 'I just wanted to do something a bit light and a something not so predictable for other people but for me to move on, its a bit more confident so I think its a bit more exposed but still kind of covered up.'
So does this mean that the famously black-clad designer will be injecting some colour into her own wardrobe? 'No no, Ill stick to black, can you imagine? Black's so much easier.'
