The Brit designer has announced this morning that the new line for boys and girls will launch on 3 November - just in time to make its way on Christmas lists. It's set to be colourful and cool, with everything from floral dresses and quilted jackets to classic pea coats, and there's even a kid's version of Stella's signature day of the week knickers.
She says, 'As a brand with many working parents in the team, I wanted to create a desirable, fun, wearable kids collection that was affordable. I feel like all the timeless childrens wear is reserved for the expensive brands and that did not sit well with me, kids and parents, aunts, uncles, friends, should all be able to have access to Stella McCartney Kids clothes. We have tried to make that possible in this first collection, and hope it is enjoyed!'
Of course, it's not Stella's first foray into the world world of kid's clothing - she has teamed up with Gap on two children's collections that were as much of a hit with the fashion crowd as they were with its offspring. And, given that the new line will go up to age 12, we suspect that swathes of grown-up style setters will be trying to squeeze themselves into it.More
