The fashion world has been discussing the appointment of a new creative director at legendary fashion house Thierry Mugler for months now. The first name thrown into the hat was London's very own Gareth Pugh, followed swiftly by editor and stylist Nicola Formichetti. And now the speculation can finally end - Formichetti has bagged the role.
Formichetti is currently Fashion Director of Japanese Vogue Homme as well as a contributor to a host of other glossy magazines, as well as celebrity stylist to the likes of Chloe Sevigny and Scarlett Johansson. But the partnership that has bought him to the attention of style setters everywhere is that with Lady Gaga - he is responsible for some of her most outlandish looks, not to mention the recent magazine cover that saw her dressed as a man.
According to WWD he will be responsible for overseeing both the men's and women's collections, and will present his first offering for autumn/winter 2011. We're predicting a decidedly forward thinking, creative collection - and we suspect that Lady Gaga will be its biggest fan.More
