After six seasons of showing stateside, British duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi have well and truly broken New York. The last two collections have been hailed as a highpoint on the schedule and today, they outdid themselves.
The Preen spring summer 2011 girl is a very different person to her older sister in the bandage power dress. Crisp shirts, embroidered cotton, sleeveless jackets and chiffon dresses were light as air, flattering the figure without spelling it out. Hips were defined with leather peplum belts that sat over flowing lengths, cream satin dresses falling mid-calf were given a modern, androgynous racer-back vest top. Preens drop-waist belts and calf-length dresses brought a new proportion to the season. Serene, minimalist and feminine. Their best yet.
