MIA and The Strokes to soundtrack New York fashion week?

So over in New York, rumours about which artists guests can hope to hear accompanying the latest fashion collections are beginning to circulate. We've already shared the speculation that Britney will be cementing her new friendship with Pop magazine at their fashion week party in our rumours round up.

Now news is reaching us that MIA, who accompanied the designer to this year's Costume Institute Gala, will be playing at Alexander Wang's after party. While Wang's publicist is coy on the subject, stating 'all I'll say is it's a rumour'. And over at Tommy Hilfiger, The Strokes have been confirmed for his 25th anniversary show at the Lincoln Centre on Sunday.

This week has already seen Alison Goldfrapp perform at a party for Viktor & Rolf's Flower Bomb fragrance, in lavish frills from the duo's SS10 collection, and we wait with interest to see which other musical talents will be surprising the front row.
