Roland Mouret wins back trademark and announces flagship store

Good news from Roland Mouret, who has secured the rights to use the Roland Mouret trademark again, and announced plans to open his first flagship store in 2011.

Until now, the French designer had been unable to design under his own name, after splitting from his backers in 2005 and losing the rights to the Roland Mouret trademark to them. He has since produced collections under the name 'RM by the designer Roland Mouret', but today commented that acquiring the trademark was always part of our plan. The future is very exciting.

Together with new business partner Simon Fuller, Mouret will open a new six floor flagship store and headquarters in Mayfair, with two floors dedicated to retail, and the rest housing the designers studios and workroom. Mouret today stated that the acquisition of the trademark and the addition of Carlos Place, the new residence for the brand, feels like a home coming", while his business partner described the news as a perfect start to the new decade.
