Swarovski has revealed the line-up of designers that it will be sponsoring for spring/summer 2010. Most of the names whose collections are set to sparkle have been supported by the brand already - Holly Fulton, Louise Goldin, Michael van der Ham and Erdem to name just a few. But there are two labels that are new to the list and pretty unfamiliar to us - so we decided to do some digging.
First up, Juan Carlos Obando. The Colombian designer has been showing in New York since 2008 and has a reputation for creating beautifully cut, polished tailoring and signature pleated dresses. His website tells us that his spring 2011 collection has been inspired by '...the powerful imagery taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and Duncan Jones' motion picture, Moon.'
And from the Paris schedule Brazilian designer Pedro Lorneco who, at just 19 years old, is already causing quite a stir on the fashion scene. Back in February it seems his show was the French equivalent of Hakaan's show here, generating a massive amount of buzz out of nowhere. It was styled by Brana Wolf, editor at large for US Harper's Bazaar and produced by international PR company KCD and had fashion editors across the globe talking.More
