We at ELLE take the ease of internet shopping for granted, and the fact that some of our favourite stores haven't branched out into online stores yet always surprises us. This morning we've learned that one brand is about to take the leap - Gap is about to join the world wide web.
The US brand already has a transactional site stateside, but, according to WWD, by the end of the year it plans to roll it out to around 65 other countries - including the UK. And it will also be launching online stores for its sister company, Banana Republic, which is great news for those of you who live outside London.
Gap's site isn't the only one that we're excited about. ELLE's perennial high street favourite Zara is launching its online store on 2 September - that's sure to be disastrous for our bank balance - and H&M will follow suit on September 16. Mark your diaries now.More
