It's fair to say that Tamara Mellon is inextricably linked with the fashion crowd's favourite shoe label, Jimmy Choo. She was the Accessories Editor who met Malaysian footwear designer Choo and fell for his creations. She (along with her father) invested the money that helped to turn the label from a tiny couture studio into a much-coveted global brand. And even when Jimmy Choo left his eponymous label back in 2001, Mellon has continued to make sure that it offered up an irresistible selection of shoes and bags, and earned herself an OBE in the process.
Now speculation is mounting that Mellon is about to sell the business. According to the Daily Mail she is gearing up for the sale, and as she owns 15% of the business she could earn around £100 million. There's no word on what she'll do next, but we imagine that she has a selection of projects up her sleeve. We're just hoping that they're fashion-related.More
