In the latest instalment of fashion's never-ending debate about size, Marc Jacobs' business partner, Robert Duffy, caused quite a furore on twitter when he suggested that Marc Jacobs may be adding a line of plus sized clothes to his line-up.
He began on Tuesday by tweeting, 'I want to do plus sizes. Great opportunity. Need to get the customers interested. They don't buy our 14 and 16's I always get stuck with them,' and later added, 'I don't like the phrase Plus Sizes. Any suggestions?' It seems that something of a heated debate then ensued because one of his final messages for the day read 'Let's not talk about larger sizes anymore today. Upsetting for many.'
Then yesterday he revealed that the label is in the midst of talks with another company about creating the new line, which, if and when it emerges, will not be based on the Marc Jacobs main line.
We wouldn't be surprised if Jacobs followed through on the project - he's not a man who's afraid to branch out with his fashion line - and we'd love to see what he'd come up with. Watch this space for more details...More
