Every season there are some looks that hit the runway that you can be fairly sure will be seen only in editorial spreads and on the most die-hard fans. Last season it was Alexander McQueen's towering shoes, which we're almost certain were only worn by Daphne Guinness in the real world. This season's offering? The Chanel faux fur suits.
Worn by Baptiste Giabiconi on the catwalk in Paris back in February, it may have born a striking resemblance to a yeti but it looked almost practical when sported next to a 265 tonne glacier. Not so when donned at the height of summer in New York City.
Joe Zee of ELLE US bravely took to the streets in the head-to-toe look to see what would happen and, thankfully for the rest of us, he filmed his outing. We defy you not to laugh as you watch him confidently telling bemused passers-by that yes it's hot - but in a good way. It's Chanel!
