Yesterday's Chanel couture show wasn't just about the A-list front row, of course. The stars were all there to see the latest collection by the hand of Karl Lagerfeld and naturally it didn't disappoint.
The star of the show was surely the gold lion - 40ft high and weighing eight tonnes, it sat in the centre of the catwalk towering over the proceedings. We'd love to know what life holds for it now that the show's over.
When it came to the collection short was the order of the day - not a full-length gown in sight. And the feeling was oppulent; all rich colours, luxe fabrics and lashings of gold embroidery. There were stunning dresses aplenty - beautiful tiered shifts, elegant chiffon numbers and glamorous satin gowns - as well as chic wool tailoring to see those that can afford it through the winter. And on the accessories front? Eye-catching embellished boots and stacks of bracelets.
The show finished with Baptiste Giabiconi, sporting a lion's head no less, walking a model dressed in a shimmering white and gold wedding suit down the runway. Perfect.More
