Kate Moss is one of the few verifiable quadruple-threats of the fashion world: a supermodel, Topshop designer, rock chick (she did sing onstage at Glastonbury, after all), and artist's muse. The multi-talented Moss is cast in the latter role with her latest venture, an exhibition of Mario Testino portraits at Phillips de Pury.
The London auction house is set to exhibit a series of 18 portraits Testino shot in 1996. For this show (also a sale, but they're not telling us the prices), Testino enlarged the photographs to life size. "Kate represents the ultimate kind of woman, an icon of our times," Testino says.
It's not the first time artists have looked to La Moss for inspiration - who could forget sculptor Marc Quinn's Sphinx, a series of life-sized Moss sculptures in yoga poses?
Somehow, though, this is the depiction we'd be happiest to take home.
Selected works by Mario Testino will be on view and for sale from 5-16 July at Phillips de Pury and from 16 July at the Saatchi Gallery, both in London.More
