We know that we don't talk about menswear all that often, but we like to know which names we should be listening out for. So this morning we sat up and took notice when the British Fashion Council unveiled the list of lucky menswear designers who have been awarded NEWGEN sponsorship for the coming season.
So who made the cut? Taking to the runway with his first solo show will be James Long. And Christopher Shannon and London Fashion Week stalwart J.W. Anderson will both receive show sponsorship once again.
Carolyn Massey, Lou Dalton and design duo SIBLING will host presentations.
James Small, who last season attracted Kate Moss, Jefferson Hack and Lily Allen to his front row, will be showing an installation. And so will Christopher Raeburn, Katie Eary (who is also creating a womenswear collection for the first time) and Omar Kashoura.
This year marks a big increase in the number of menswear designers receiving NEWGEN support, rising from four to ten, and all recipients will show off their ceations on Wednesday 22nd September.
