LCF reveals its future stars of the fashion industry
The event, attended by Jane Shepherdson, BFC Chairman Harold Tillman, and a coterie of celebrities, was streamed live worldwide for the first time- in the manner of Alexander McQueen and Burberry shows this year.
NME editor and fashion follower Krissi Murrison presented awards to a truly international alumnus- with Indian Karishma Shahani taking the Fashion Textiles award, Belarusian Yelena Longuiiko winning for Design and Technology, and another Indian graduate Vilvin Sabu being recognised for the exquisite trimmings in her Mayan and Aztec inspired ethical collection.
Standout winner of the day, however, was Thai graduate Napathon Sampataphakodee, whose tailored menswear collection was inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Judges from the LCF were unanimous in their decision to award it Collection of the Year.
