In the latest of a series of fashion forays, the Olsen sibling/designer duo have worked with premium Hong Kong manufacturer Absolute Black to produce a sunglasses line which will launch in November, coinciding with resort 2010. The first drop will consist of two styles, reflecting the very New York Olsen design sensibility; Hudson, a modern take on the aviator, and Fairfax, a feline, retro frame, both in sleek black acetate with hints of gold.
Announcing the launch this week, Ashley Olsen spoke of her excitement to "elevate Elizabeth and James with the addition of eyewear." The duo worked with designers at Absolute Black from across the globe, conducting design summits by Skype, in an unconventional process that seems to have paid off, with the planned expansion of the range in Spring 2011, and rumoured forays into handbag design and a standalone store for Elizabeth and James in the coming months.
Elizabeth and James eyewear will be available at Harvey Nichols from November.More
