Alexander Wang announces new essentials line, plus New York store launch

The prolific 25 year old will expand his eponymous empire with an as yet unnamed capsule collection of key pieces- the staples which Wang has described as "what our customers come back for again and again". That means three styles of immaculately cut trousers, a sharp leather blazer, and small selection of blouses; classic pieces with a more tailored feel than T, the casual line Wang launched in 2009. The essentials line will retail at roughly the same price points as his main line (£180-£400), but the launch date is as yet unconfirmed- unlike his first standalone store, which is promised before the end of the year. A lease is currently being signed on premises in New York- but Wang is keeping tight-lipped about the exact location until it is finalised.
