This Sunday, Graduate Fashion Week begins.
Now in its 19th year, Earls Court Exhibition centre plays host to the work of more than 1,000 fashion graduates from over 60 universities all vying to catch the eye of buyers and fashion houses to help catapult them in to the limelight and become the Next Big Thing. Acclaimed photographer and ELLE regular Rankin shot the names to watch (Sera Ulger of Ravensbourne College's work is pictured) in what will prove an invaluable springboard to promote the graduates talents.
As well as a daily schedule of fashion shows and a vast exhibition, the four day event is rounded off with The Graduate Fashion Week Gala on June 9th. ELLE editor-in-chief Lorraine Candy joins Alberta Ferretti and other industry experts in picking the winner of the prestigious River Island Gold Award. The recipient wins £20,000 and a placement at River Island.
Past participants include just about every name in the British fashion industry; Christopher Bailey, Giles Deacon, Antonio Berardi, Stella McCartney - she who asked pal Kate Moss to model for it. ELLEuk.com will be bringing you coverage of the event and our top picks for the stars of the future next week.
