Paris latest: Hussein Chalayan

The mood changed suddenly and we were on an American road trip adventure with Chalayan. We began in New York with long herringbone overcoats and grey sneakers. Then to Pennsylvania and a look at its Amish community, with crisp white shirts and straw bonnets courtesy of milliner Noel Stewart. In Texas, metallic fabric was cut in the shoulders of shirts and Swarovski crystals formed the image of car headlights.

Naturally, these varied influences resulted in many different looks. Perhaps too many for the one show but they were independently strong.
