With all the buzz surrounding David Koma's eponymous label (as worn by Lady Gaga, Beyonce et al) it's easy to forget that this is just his third season - and that's if you include his graduate collection. Considering all the pressure that the attention must bring a remarkably humble Koma calmly pulled it out of the bag for a/w 2010.
The latest offerings were inspired by graphic artists Fortunato Depero and Umberto Boccion, and their geometric shapes were translated into figure hugging panelled wool and leather dresses and bold zig-zag edging.
Highlights of the show? The uber-sexy body con mini dresses with 1990s Versace-style cut away sections. An dof course, the show pieces - jackets and dresses embellished with rolls of heavy metal zips in gold and silver. Expect to see tehm on an A-lister near you in no time at all.
Post-show the Russian-born designer looked shell shocked by all the attention but was thrilled that his show had been so well received. 'I'm really happy I take all the collections personally so for me to feel that the people who are really important to me like it and are saying good things really means a lot to me".
And he isn't fazed by the press attention that his celebrity fans have earned him either. 'I'm concentrating on work and trying to do my best in what I can do, so I don't think too much about what's going on around I just do what I love and, I think, it's working!'
So what's he going to do to celebrate now that the show's over? 'No party just with very close friends a nice dinner'. And will he be watching supporting any other designers now that his part in LFW is done and dusted? 'I hope to go to a friend of mine's show, Mary Katranzou, she's going to do well I'm sure.' We'll be seeing him t More
