For that, we have to thank Marios Schwab, the young designer who made his name at London Fashion Week but who proved yesterday that he has the ability to conquer New York as well.
Under the watchful eye of creative consultant Sarah Jessica Parker, he presented a collection for the 1970s house that respected its spirit but brought it bang up to date. Although Schwab is known for body con, this presentation was looser, loucher - there were bright floor-length cut-away gowns, of course, but the stand-out pieces were simple little wool or jersey dresses in lovely neutral colours.
London jeweller Jacqueline Rabun created dramatic silver pieces to accompany the collection. In all, a perfect start to what looks like the perfect relationship.More
