Patti Smith is our hero. From her incredibly cool, androgynous style to her punk poetry music, we can't get enough of the iconic artist. And we're not the only ones. She's having a moment right now thanks to her just-released memoir that details her relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe (team ELLE is engrossed). And some of New York's hottest designers yesterday tempted her to their shows.
She popped up on the front row at Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. show along with rock progeny Kelly Osbourne. She watched the Chado Ralph Rucci show, saying 'He invited me...I love fashion. Even though don't wear it, I still love it!' And she really set the fashion pack's hearts racing by performing live at the after-party for uber-cool brand LNA.
She performed her most memorable tracks - 'Gloria', 'Redondo Beach' and more - and she also paid tribute to Alexander McQueen describing him as 'Outside of society! Life-changer!' Here's hoping we see much more of her over the coming week.More
