Nathen Jenden leaves Diane von Furstenberg

Jenden - who has worked with von Furstenberg since 2001 - leaves to concentrate on his own label which he launched in 2006.

“I felt like it is now or never,” said Jenden. “These nine years have been a large part of my life. I am so proud of knowing Diane, and so proud of the journey we have taken together".

The von Furstenberg/Jenden relationship was mutually beneficial. He has been credited with re-establishing the Diane von Furstenberg label as a fashion brand. She in turn raised Jenden's profile in the industry and introduced him to the biggest names in the business. "We have really developed the brand around Diane and her lifestyle and spirit of this woman. That brand is established now."

Immediately after his final show, Jenden will board the plane to his home town of London in preparation for his own-label show. Rumours are afoot that he will move his show to New York next season, no doubt to maximise his contacts there.

Jenden will be replaced at Diane von Furstenberg by Yvan Mispeleare, the former Chloe designer who took the bow after Pheobe Philo left the label, and who then moved to Gucci as design director. Looks like the DvF label is going to undergo some changes. Watch this space.
