Geordie Joe may have won but that whole singing thing came second place to the wardrobe debate that raged between Cheryl and Dannii. Cheryl started out on top with an array of sexy, youthful audition outfits from Wang, Lim and McQueen. But as we moved through the live finals, it all became a tad of an effort. Brilliantly progressive for a previously safe-dressing Cheryl, but big dresses from edgy designers like David Koma seemed to wear her rather than the other way round. But praise should be given for her dedicated support of British designers; Richard Nicoll, Julien Macdonald, Matthew Williamson and Marios Schwab were all favourites.
Meanwhile Dannii quietly developed a signature style that really worked for her. Consistently wearing Grecian, draped dresses by Australian designers like Ralph and Russo and Aurelio Costarella. Dannii dressed herself without a stylist while Cheryl used two.
