S/S2010 Fashion Week news update

The month of collections kicks off in New York on 10 September, and from pop-up shops to special fashion film viewings, there’s already plenty to get excited about. Today you can add a collaboration between NY based designers threeASFOUR and Yoko Ono, and a Rodarte shop–cum-gallery, to be based at Parisian boutique Colette, to your must–see fashion week list.

Details of the collaboration between artist/musician (and wife of the late Beatle John Lennon) Yoko Ono and threeASFOUR are still very much under wraps. But Ono will attend the designers’ presentation at NY’s Milk Studios on September 17.

Also based in NY, designers (and sisters) Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte have announced today that they will be present at Paris Fashion Week in October by creating a shop-cum-gallery with Parisian boutique Colette. The space will live on Colette’s second floor and will allow shoppers inside the mysterious world of the pair who are known for their fantastical, and fairy tale inspired designs. As well as selling key pieces from the a/w09 collection, the shop will also feature objects d’art curated by the sisters, limited edition jewellery by the girls’ mother, pillow cases by Miranda July and glitter taxidermy by Annakim Violette.

Top of our wish list will be a selection of Rodarte’s favourite horror films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Rosemary’s Baby, and the books (like Kurt Cobain’s autobiography and Charlotte’s Web) with hand painted covers. The s
