Marc Jacobs fights for his rights

They are flying off the shelves of his Bleeker Street store in New York, and now Marc Jacobs new politically charged T-shirts in support of gay marriage have come to London.

Just in at the Marc by Marc Jacobs store in Mount Street, both feature the caption I pay my taxes I want my rights. One depicts a lesbian couple and their child in matching LBDs, and the other shows images of a dollar sign and the American flag. The designer, who is engaged to advertising executive Lorenzo Martone, previously designed T-shirts with images of naked celebrities to raise awareness for skin cancer, and launched diffusion line Jacobs by Marc Jacobs to raise money for the Creative Growth Arts Centre.
