Style savvy New Yorkers breathed a huge sigh of relief when Topshop finally landed in the world's second most stylish city

Exclusively revealed to us at ELLEuk.com, Kate Moss' collection proved to be a best seller - no shocker as Kate is a huge icon in NY, and her eponymous line previously hard to come by. But proving that NY like their bling they snapped up 'anything with sequins' in particular Kate's diamante mini dress and printed green bolero with sequin edge.

From the main collections they picked up on the leather biker jackets with studs, buying hard into three different styles - how many biker jackets can a girl have? Plus they loved feathers - picking out the ostrich feather skirt and sequin feather top, and picked up on the boyfriend blazer trend - but you guessed it - with sequins, from the Unique range.

The shoppers went mad for shoes - reports were 'you could barely move in there for all the desperate shoppers trying to get hold of Topshop Boutique and Emma Cook for Topshop footwear.' No surprise, we've always found fashion forward on-budget footwear hard to come by in NY.

Co-incidentally over here in Blighty, we were optimistically busy stocking up on sunglasses and high summer sandals, picking up the stores primal tribal embellished sandal - now out of stock - and Jonathan Saunders' three colour dress.

Ever 'in the know' and with Topshop now part of our culture we use the store for basics and collaborations - buying into Richard Nicoll and Preen's lines, while New Yorkers went for the bling, the Moss and the 'above the line' fashion pieces.

When it comes to great fashion, Londoner and New Yorkers aren't that different, and expect to see the likes of Kirsten Dunst and Katie Holmes stepping out on the sidewalks in the latest British-born leathers.
