Jil Sander joins Uniqlo design team
The legendary designer was rumoured to be working on a new project, and last month was spotted at French fabric fair Première Vision. The industry was a buzz with rumours, was Jill returning to design? She left her eponymous label in 2004, which is now designed by Raf Simons.
Today in Tokyo, all was revealed. Jil will consult on all aspects of global design fro Uniqlo, as well as when the time is right - design her own capsule collection for the brand.
Jil's vision is certainly back in style, with many designers inspired by the minimalist aesthetic designers like she and Helmut Lang created in the 1990s. And now we'll be able to get it on the high street.
