This season Gareth Pugh chose to show his collection via a video installation in a Paris warehouse, however, by no means did this prove to be any less spectacular than a catwalk show. Set to the same music as horror film, The Shining, the film had all the drama of a Pugh runway, if not more.
It showcased Pugh's new silhouette for a/w 09, cape like and triangular on top, juxtaposed with skinny high waisted trousers.
There was less of the space-age warrior about these clothes. More than ever Pugh showed wearable, modern pieces that will transfer from exhibition to real life well. In particular his edgy, panelled body-con dresses - our favourite being the version with boxy, squared off shoulders; skinny pants and asymmetric jackets.
It looks like Paris suits London's most avant-garde export. Bravo Gareth.
