I think its been such a fantastic week. Theres been a real energy and a buzz to it all the international buyers that Ive spoken to have been really impressed and theyve all said that it feels like Londons sticking two fingers to the recession and is just being super creative. I think I can honestly say that there hasnt been one bad show. Everyones really stepped up to the plate and produced tighter, slicker shows, the collections that weve been hoping for over the last few seasons.
My highlight was Meadham Kirchhoff. Every piece was just amazing and I felt really quite emotional and proud watching it. Marios Schwab was really back on form with a slicker, sharper look. I love his use of structure and prints, and the way that he uses Swarovski Crystals in a way thats not too girly. House of Holland was a real party show, fun and humorous everything that we love about London. Hes the heart and soul of the citys fashion scene.
And my ones to watch? Knitwear designer Mark Fast, who were stocking exclusively next autumn. His show was so hotly anticipated and Ive never seen so many press and buyers present and correct at 9 oclock in the morning. And Ben Grimes label LP.BG is so modern and easy to wear.
