Speaking to industry title WWD this morning Luella said, in the past, it was about creating the right image, following the right trends, but I dont feel that pressure anymore. I have more confidence now. I can focus on catering to my customers lifestyles as opposed to following the rest of the market. Im very proud to have come to this point and I guess you could say Im coming of age.
For autumn then, Luellas girls' lifestyle is about bunking off finishing school with her plaited grunge hair, raising hell at the pony club in her skinny wool trousers, military wool cap and cropped quilted bomber, party hopping in west London in a cream and black silk dress and strutting down the Kings Road in her gold brocade trousers.
Accessories too had been honed as designer pal Katie Hillier returned to Luellas showroom this season to design bags, and collaboration with shoe designer Georgina Goodman had produced the most to-die-for pom pom shoes. We may not have the Luella girls lifestyle but were on the list for these already.
