Paris Fashion Week Latest: Karl's House

This morning, the imposing set is nothing short of spectacular and had many a front row editor leaping up to take a snap.

When a model-come-doorman appeared at the store front to open up for Karl's troop of girls, the scene was set and the crowd was suitably cheered as 'Our House' by Madness blared from the speakers to kick off the proceedings.

Signature bouclé and tweed skirt suits which opened the show were updated for 2009 in sherbet shades of pink and mauve, classic black suits came with cut out black patent cuffs and trims.

Some jackets had rounded raglan shoulders, giving them a slouchier feel, and shoes made of patent and PVC sparkled with crystals - no sign of a credit crisis in Chanel's world then?

Tailoring and classic tulip skuirts were a safe bet and last season's waiting list worthy panelled sheer tights were updated for spring – this time opaque to just below the knee and sheer to the toe.

Our favourite pieces? Mini knit super tight dresses with a nod to the early 90s that has cropped up everywhere this season, and for aspiring rock stars everywhere the white leather quilted guitar case – perhaps he had Irina in mind.
