Luella's 'psychedelic Sunday best' and all the latest reviews from London Fashion Week
Now many of the designers nurtured here are staying, and this week they have firmly taken their place as the new establishment.
The gang includes some of yesterday's headlining designers, Marios Schwab, Todd Lynn and returning London it girl Luella Bartley, who is now a permanent fixture on the London Fashion Week schedule.
'Psychedelic Sunday best', is how Luella described this collection to ELLE TV backstage before her show - a collection of punked up, lady-like looks in clashing brights of orange, pink and purple so loud they almost hurt your eyes - just what Luella wanted. There were trademark ruffles and frills and Chanel-esque tweeds in the demure boxy jackets and knee length skirts. And of course, plenty of signature, party girl dresses that we have come to know and love from Luella.
No doubt about it - this was one of our favourite shows of London Fashion Week so far. A glam, eighties wardrobe of fluid figure hugging dresses, the kind of wrap around belts you might have found in a Jane Fonda fitness video and chunky copper, twisted necklaces (we can imagine Jerry Hall in them all) infused with Marios' trademark organic feel - this season - rainbow print jumpsuits; flesh coloured suede and fringing. It all made for a sexy, sporty- chic collection in which summer's ubiquitous jumpsuit made more than one appearance.
