To mark her label’s 20th anniversary year and for the first time ever, Donna Karan showed her DKNY collection at the official NY Fashion Week HQ - the tents at Bryant Park. Winona Ryder, Christina Ricci and Nicole Richie all sat front and centre as the celebrations began with a film about New York city - Donna Karan's constant inspiration for the line. The collection that followed stayed true to the brand’s now iconic aesthetic - the sporty, sexy, urban uniform. Cue utility details, denim, simple black lycra dresses and easy to dress up or down separates. A hint of the eighties peppered the collection - slogan tees, heeled baseball boots and a poppy neon palette.

At Preen, famous friends and fans showed their support from the front row. Leigh Lezark looked stylish in a crystal embellished dress from the a/w08 collection, Roisin Murphy wore an electric blue cocktail dress, and Peaches Geldof was also front and centre for the London duo's second outing in New York.

Tight bandage dresses with cut out details, lace and sheer panels, asymmetric necklines, couture-like ruffles and lace-up backs all underlined the sporty, sexy with an edge look that is what this duo have always done best. Black, white, grey and denim looked fresh alongside tomato red and electric blue.

But it was NY veteran Diane Von Furstenberg who garnered the most celebrity support yesterday. Molly Sims, Leighton Meester, Rachel Zoe, Venus Williams and her mother, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez and Uma Thurman all turned out to see Diane von Furstenberg and Nathan Jenden's homage to Diana Vreeland. In her honour, a seventies vibe infused the collection
