It looks like Marco Zanini's job at the helm of Halston will not be filled by another big fashion name. Despite interviewing several prospective new designers (including Roland Mouret) it seems Halston will continue to be designed by the label's in house team, with guidance from board member Tamara Mellon (pictured here with Christian Slater). The label's much anticipated second collection, created by the design team will debut at New York next Tuesday at Manhattan's Museum of Modern Art.
Just two weeks before the spring/summer 09 show in Milan, Jil Sander confirms that the label has been acquired by a new holding company. Tokyo based Onwad Holdings Co. Ltd has purchased the label for $244 million, a boost that will see the label grow from strength to strength.
And this morning Diesel boss Renzo Rosso's company Pier SpA confirmed that it has signed a five year licensing deal with Charles Anastase. This will see the four- year old label, showing in London for the first time this season, expand in various new areas of design. Watch this space!
