Peter Som to quit Bill Blass?

Som (pictured) who also designs his own eponymous label and shows both at New York fashion week is said to have been unhappy with the amount of corporate interference from the owners of the Bill Blass label NexCen Brands Inc.

However there are conflicting reports emerging from the fashion world today as some sources report that on the contrary, Som is staying at the label and renegotiating his contract, despite the fact that there will be no Bill Blass catwalk show this coming September. The company recently announced that due to financial reasons they will not be putting on a costly runway show at Bryant Park during New York fashion week.

In related news, we hear Matthew Williamson might be leaving his role as Creative Director at Pucci. Industry insiders at WWD have found out that Pucci have approached various design assistants about succeeding Williamson at the Italian fashion house.
