Masterminded by Topshop's ex Brand Director Jane Shepherdson, the new West London store, which opens to the public on Saturday 10 May, sells donated designer items which are re tagged as 'Loved for Longer by Oxfam', green and fair trade collections from brands such as People Tree, the new Made with Love accessories range created by Oxfam volunteers, as well as small collections that will be specially created from donated pieces each season by LFC fashion graduates and up and coming designers.
To mark the launch of the first store (two more will open in West London this summer) Oxfam commissioned a host of British designers including Giles Deacon, Christopher Kane, Johnathan Saunders and Henry Holland to kick off the proceedings and rework donated garments into unique fashion pieces that will be auctioned on Ebay from today for the next 10 day - in aid of Oxfam. And if you don't live in London, don't worry you can still get involved, as from 2009 Oxfam will roll out similar stores across the UK.
