Fashion and Hollywood’s who’s who to step out at the Costume Institute Gala

A week today will be one of fashion’s biggest and most glittering back slaps - the Costume Institute Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Musuem of Art – New York's fashion event of the year where the most important aspect is which designer invited you.

This year's Honorary Chair is Giorgio Armani and co-chairing with him will be Julia Roberts and George Clooney. Elleuk.com have just heard who's rumoured to be on the guest list. Armani is said to be inviting Tom Cruise, and wife Katie Holmes, while Jennifer Lopez is attending with Alberta Ferretti, Kate Bosworth with Chanel and Rachel Bilson and Fergie with Calvin Klein. Other guests who may be attending are Scarlett Johansson, Kate Moss, Claire Danes, Mischa Barton as well as Donatella Versace and Tom Ford. With a theme of Superheroes, Fashion and Fantasy, we can’t wait to see what the stars step out wearing. Note Amy Winehouse will not be performing for the uber-fashionable guests, she was offered £500,000 to sing but, due to her troubles, was spectacularly uninvited last week. It doesn't get less fashionable than that.
