That's because the Swiss label has recruited US shoe designer Brian Atwood as it's new Creative Director and his debut collection for spring/summer 08 is arriving in store now.
Ex-catwalk model Atwood was the first American designer to be hired by Gianni Versace in 1996, to design Versace's accessories, before launching his own eponymous shoe label in 2001 to critical acclaim (he won a CFDA award for accessories design in 2003) and celebrity adoration. At Bally, where he was appointed Creative Director in 2007 he heads up handbag and shoe design as well as the brand's ready to wear collections.
For spring he has found inspiration in everything form Moroccan tiles, Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Victorian lace and tropical leaves. This has all translated into a fresh modern collection of classic designs which are sure to bring Bally's appeal to a wider and younger audience as well as many of Atwood star clients.
In fact the A-list has already caught on with Demi Moore (pictured here toting the Awra stingray clutch), Jessica Alba and Sienna Miller among the new crowd of Bally fans.
