Ferragamo celebrates 80th Anniversary in Shanghai

The Italian fashion house rebuilt the medieval Palazzo Spini Feroni, the label's headquaters in Florence, on the banks of Shanghai's Huangpu River for the festivities which included a fashion show, gala dinner and two memorable dances, performed by ballet dancer Roberto Bolle of the La Scala ballet.He is the face of Ferragamo's new watch collection, which showcased this weekend at the event ahead of it's official launch this week at the famous Basel watch fair.
Like Fendi, who last year staged a re-run of their a/w 07 catwalk show on the Great Wall of China just outside Beijing, Ferragamo clearly has an eye on the expanding Chinese luxury goods market by hosting such a huge event in the country, and looks to be stamping their claim on a slice of this huge emerging client base by honouring the city with this special event.
