Gossip Girl: Your guide to the hit show

The fashion obsessed hit- show from the US airs on ITV2 at 10pm this Thursday so set your Sky Plus now!

If you haven't heard about it yet (where have you been?) it's Sex and the City meets the O.C and you are going to love it.

So what's the story? Well it's set in Manhattan's rich Upper East Side. Gossip Girl is the narrator of the show who comments on the lives, loves and most importantly wardrobes of a group of rich, well dressed (but obviously seriously messed up) teenagers who go to high school in the Big Apple - through her blog, Gossip Girl. The mystery is her identity, which is kept secret from us and everyone she's writing about.

Blair, the star of the show, is played by Leighton Meester, left (think the new SJP) and has a wardrobe to-die-for. Her mum is a famous fashion designer, hence why she always looks so amazingly on trend and put together: she uses Chanel and YSL totes as school bags!

Her best friend is Serena (played by Blake Lively, right), the wild child (read the the new Marissa Cooper) and is dating Dan Humphries, the son of a rock star. He's not a society boy but his father's wealth helps him stay afloat in the rich kid scene. His sister is Jenny - the social climber of the group, and she wants to be just like Blair.
