Weve noticed a growing trend that has been bubbling under for some time now the fashion DJ. On the London scene, a party just isnt a party nowadays without Henry Holland and/or partner in crime Agyness Deyn taking to the decks. Christopher Kane, Gareth Pugh and Giles have all taken a spin at some of the hottest bashes over the last few months and model Daisy Lowe is also in great demand. Jefferson Hack, editor of Another Magazine and old flame of Kate Moss, was due to DJ at a party in Paris this week but, being of the old school, took along his record box when, unfortunately, only a cd player was on offer.
Of course, DJs are also making the transition into the fashion world. Sporting a beehive even bigger than Amy Winehouse, DJ Jodie Harsh was a regular on the front rows at the most recent London Fashion Week previews and Peaches Geldof appears at most fashionable shindigs, whether on the decks or not, while slyly designing a line with party frock purveyors PPQ. When you take into consideration the popularity and fashion following of Boombox here in London and the MisShapes over in New York, the line between fashion and music seems to have become distinctly blurred. But one thing is clear if you want to be in with the coolest movers and shakers right now, the must-have accessory is a pair of headphones.
