Here at Elle we have been shunning mammoth priced 'It' bags that you'll need to remortgage your house for, in favour of the new wave of smaller bags seen on the catwalks for spring summer 08. Oragami inspired clutches, the 10th anniversary, do-it-yourself Fendi baguette, and of course any incarnation of Chanel's 2.55 - but especially the Union Jack one feted at Karl Largerfeld's recent Paris Londres show in London.
However, if you can't quite part with your roomy bags just yet and are going to invest in a statement tote for spring make it a cost effective, two for the price of one number from Marc Jacobs (pictured here) or Dolce & Gabbana - who both sent little bags, stuck on to the front of big totes down the catwalk for the new season.
These quirky new totes check all the boxes on our lust have list when it comes to bag shopping. Big enough to fit three magazines, a change of heels, i -pod, blackberry and cameras (!), but still nodding to summer's new small bag trend with that amazing addition on the front.
We say, get on the waiting list now!
