Saunders, admired by the fashion industry as well as a host of A-listers, including Thandie Newton (pictured here in one of Saunders' dresses), is famous for his sophisticated use of colour and geometric prints. He also recently teamed up with British cosmetics company No. 17 to create a vibrant make-up collection. But the lure of New York, where British designers find they are able to showcase their collections to a wider audience (and make more money), seems to have been too great for Saunders, who has been showing in London since 2003. Though his business will remain based in London, he will now be a fixture on the New York schedule from September.
