Kate Moss was there, with fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell, The Olsens, Liv Tyler plus every major designer from Donna Karan to Valentino. Celebrities and designers auctioned a sparkling collection of fashion pieces to raise money to help fight AIDS, including Kate Moss who donated one of her Topshop dresses and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour who sold the Chanel Couture jacket off her back to Ashley Olsen - who then left the event wearing it. Kate Moss also spent the night deep in cosy converstaion with new boss Donna Karan who announced this week that Kate is the personification of her spring summer collection. "She's wild and sexy and somebody who has the energy to hang out in the streets" and was therefore the perfect choice to star in Karan's next ad campaign, 'Nueva York' - which the two have just finished shooting with fashion shutterbugs Mert and Marcus.
Last Thursday's gala evening heralded the start of the month long 7th on Sale auction currently on eBay. It's a worldwide sale of one-off fashion and home pieces designed and donated by designers and stars from all over the globe. Anne Hathaway has donated the Valentino gown she wore to last year's Oscars and there's also a pair of Calvin Klein heels worn by Madonna. If you don't fancy something second hand (even if it is a superstar who's worn it first) there are also some great brand new pieces. We particularly love the Ralph Lauren cashmere...hint hint!
