It's official: Handbags are so last season!

Handbags are over... well sort of. But why we hear you cry? Because next season, it's all about shoes. From toadstool and flower stem heels at Prada (pictured) to bonker's back to front stilletos at Marc Jacobs via curvy heels at Donna Karan, pompoms, rafia and more - shoes grabbed all the headlines for spring. Where bags did appear they were smaller, subtle and discreet. Infact, if you want to get ahead, start searching for your perfect daytime clutch now. Maybe it's because of all those reports in the press that our giant totes are breaking our backs (and bank accounts), or maybe we've just seen one too many pictures of Posh sporting yet another one of her endless supply of coloured Hermes Birkin bags, but it seems designers have taken note - flashy statement bags are so last season.
