The talent responsible for the eye-catching colours and peacock feather design scrawled across them is graffitti legend Claw Money (real name Claudia). With a background in fashion (she has been a design assistant for Narcisso Rodriguez, a stylist and a vintage dealer) she is best known for her 'W' claw tag which used to be seen on every wall in New York. She is also the fashion director of U.S magazine Swindle, and this year released her first book, 'Bombshell: The Life and Crimes of Claw Money'. She is a very busy lady. So why take on the Vandal's project? "They were always super cool and super rare and, if you could find them, never came in small sizes. I'm so excited to let the ladies get their vandals." she tells us. The sneakers hit Foot Patrol today and to mark the occasion, a free exhibition of Claw Money's work will be running at the Blink Gallery in Soho until 22nd November, featuring limited edition trainer boxes only available in the UK. As for Claudia, she's heading back to New York to work on a snowboard for K2, a new book on sunglasses (her obsession), her first fashion show, and, you'll be pleased to hear, to find a UK stockist for her label. Phew! We can't wait.
