Breaking News: Prince opens Matthew Williamson's 10th Anniversary show

Already excited that after years in New York, Matthew is back in town, the cream of the international fashion scene, along with some of Matthew's celebrity friends, including Erin O'Connor, Trudie Styler (that's Mrs Sting) Donna Air and Daisy Lowe, descended on the specially erected huge white tent in Eaton Square, creating the inevitable scrum to get in to the show.

Almost an hour after the scheduled start, the star studded crowd couldn't help but tap their feet and bob their heads to the live music that started when a five piece band finally camed on the catwalk and two dancers, draped in purple jersey burst on to the scene and cavorted down the catwalk. This was exciting enough...fashion shows don't usually start like this. And then the whispers started, where is he?

Sitting demurely, front row, head to toe in black (velvet and lace of course) Prince started to sing along with his band, before suddenly springing from the front row, to waltz up the catwalk with his purple girls and take centre stage! Fashion etiquette went out of the window as normally aloof fashion directors and magazine editors leapt up and dug around frantically for their camera phones. Never before has a show received such a standing ovation before it started! What a treat!
