After 5 years of being a permanant feature on the New York schedule, Luella came home this season and was the talk of London showing her spring summer 2008 collection here to celebrate the opening of her first ever store in London's Brook Street. First stop on 'Luella day' was her catwalk show, a super-hero inspired collection of signature looks including pretty floral print dresses, green gingham minis and skinny suits. All accessorised with bunny ears, bat man masks and geek-chic black rimmed glasses. Jules Oliver and Lily Allen nestled on the front row with fashion editors (including the infamous Anna Wintour) and stylists, while Sister played live, loud, guitar music. Then after a day of shows it was off to the Brook Street store for it's official opening. Luella arrived in one of her own metallic floral trouser suits, teamed with beat-up biker boots and drank water while her guest enjoyed champagne and traditional English boiled sweets amongst this seasons designs. (Our editor had her eye on a black velvet panelled shift dress with silver zip) The day was rounded off with a rock and roll party back at Claridge's where royalty (Princess Margaret's son Lord Linley and his wife Serena) mingled with Luella's London crew, Stuart Vevers and Fran Cutler, Bobby Gilespie and Camille Bell, Will Young and Alexa Chung. A real good time was had by all!
