Diane Von Furstenberg opens her second store in London

A chic cocktail party was the order of the day for fashionista's and socialites on a very sunny September afternoon. Diane, resplendent in Beet, her signature colour this season, welcomed guests personally at the door, everyone from the baby fashionistas who came with their editor mums to Hollywood pals. The new Mayfair outpost is a chic mix of minimal white walls and parquet floors accessorised with Diane's signature pink banquettes. The huge space, on the same street as Stella McCartney and Matthew Williamson's flagships stores, stocks Diane's catwalk collection, vintage pieces, special one off designs and Christian Louboutin shoes (well what else would you wear with DVF?) as well as her jewellery for H Stern and the new Diane Von Furstenberg Beauty range."To me Mayfair is the epitome of London chic, and London is a real fashion capital of the world at the moment" She told us. She wouldn't be drawn on the recent controversay over fashion week scheduling though. Rumour has it Marc Jacobs wants to quit New York Fashion Week, which Diane organises, because he is not happy with it's timing. "We'll sort it out" was all DVF would reveal...and we're sure if anyone can, she will.
